Bawal was streamed on Prime Video on 21 July. Varun and Janhvi play husband and wife in the film directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The story of Bawal revolves around the relationship between these two. Varun plays a history teacher who is more interested in not tarnishing his image than teaching. For this, he does different types of pranks.
His life and story take a turn when he is suspended from school for slapping an MLA's child and an inquiry is launched against him. Bawal was earlier to be released in theatres, but then it was directly launched on OTT. Most of the critics gave good marks to the film.
The film got more than 6 million views
A media consulting firm has claimed that the film has crossed 6 million views in the first week. Varun has posted on social media, which also has his video. Varun wrote – It is trending worldwide. Varun and Janhvi have come together for the first time in this film. At the same time, both have worked with Nitesh Tiwari for the first time. Nitesh has given another great film after Chhichhore. Like Chhichhore, Bawal is also a film with a social message.
Bawal was earlier to be released in theaters on October 6 but was later released on OTT. Bawal is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
