West Bengal was in the limelight during the elections. Now after the election results, Bengal has been in the headlines due to the violence taking place everywhere in the state. Police have confirmed the death of 17 people in the political violence that followed the election. But, the BJP says that more of its workers have been killed and the police are sitting hand in hand.

After the election results, hundreds of pictures and videos have been going viral on social media since 2 May Sunday night. In these, offices are seen burning, and there are scenes of looting in shops or houses. In one video, some youths are seen holding the hair of two women, dragging them mercilessly, and beating them. BJP leaders in Bengal claim that in all these videos, Trinamool workers are attacking BJP workers. These pictures and videos have been posted on social media accounts from BJP state president Dilip Ghosh to national president JP Nadda. But police officials say that the BJP leaders have not yet given information about where these incidents have taken place.

Where BJP wins, more violence - Mamta

Bengal Police are saying anything, but the National Human Rights Commission, taking cognizance of the violence, has sought a report from the state government. After pictures of the violence appeared on social media, the National Commission for Women has also decided to send its team on the spot.

In the press conference after taking charge for the third time as CM, Mamta said, "There have been some incidents of post-election violence in the state, but BJP is trying to add fuel to this fire." Violence is taking place more in areas where BJP has won. Efforts are also being made to give communal color to this violence. For this, fake videos and photographs are being used. Political parties should desist from doing so, otherwise, the law will do its job. Mamta said that Bengal is famous for its culture, social, and communal harmony, we will not let the disturbances in it succeed.

JP meets injured in Nadda hospital

On the other hand, BJP president JP Nadda has visited family members of two-party workers killed in the violence and also staged a dharna in Kolkata as part of a nationwide dharna against it on Wednesday. The party has prepared a list of violent incidents in the state during the last three days which claimed 273 incidents of murder, violence, arson, and looting. The party claims that nine of its people have been killed and thousands have fled the house in terror.

More violence in rural areas

The police have confirmed at least 17 deaths in the post-election violence but did not reveal anything related to any political party. On the other hand, BJP claimed to have killed nine of them and TMC seven. The remaining one person is said to be an activist of the Indian Secular Front.

Police say most of the violence reported is coming from rural areas. The BJP has released a list of more than two dozen incidents of violence and arson. After this, on Monday, the Union Home Ministry sought a report from the state government on the violence and the governor had also summoned senior officials of the government.

Regarding the ongoing violence in the state, BJP leader and senior advocate Gaurav Bhatia has filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding the CBI to investigate these cases. Gang rape claim turned out to be false

After Sunday's violence, on Monday, a social media post by BJP claimed that TMC men have gang-raped and beat up two female election agents of the party. BJP leader Soumitra Khan has retweeted the tweet from the handle of a user named Rajiv Rai. The same tweet was also done by BJP's female leader Agnimitra Paul. But while Khan's retweet described it as the mother of a BJP worker, Agnimitra described it as a case of gang rape in Nanur.

On Tuesday evening, one of the women sitting in the office of TMC District President Anubabrata Mandal told reporters, 'No such incident has happened to me. Fake news about this is being posted on social media. I don't know who spread this false news. '

Superintendent of Police of Birbhum Nagendra Nath Tripathi says that 'this news posted on social media is false and baseless. The claim of some political party gang-raping two female agents of BJP on social media is completely fake. Police say that action will be taken against those who make such posts.

Giving religious colors can spoil the atmosphere

Political observers Pratim Biswas say that 'The history and tradition of political and electoral violence in West Bengal has been very old, but, this is the first time efforts are being made to give it a religious color. This tendency is dangerous. A local leader of the Trinamool says that during the first elections there were attempts to polarize and after not getting success in it, efforts are now being made to see this violence through religious spectacles as well. He also says that this is not a time for violence and accusations. Corona cases are increasing in the state, political parties should deal with them together.
