Voting is to be held on Wayanad Lok Sabha seat on 13 November. Here the election campaign will end on Monday evening. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been an MP from this seat. In this Lok Sabha election, he won from Wayanad and Rae Bareli. However, later he resigned from the Yanad seat. Now his sister and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is contesting from this seat for the first time.

Ruckus over Jamaat-e-Islami's support

During the election campaign of CPI candidate Mokeri, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had accused the Congress that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is contesting the election with the support of Jamaat-e-Islami. Jamaat-e-Islami is supporting Priyanka Gandhi as an organization.

He had said, "The Wayanad by-election has completely exposed the secular mask of the Congress. Priyanka Gandhi is contesting the election in Wayanad with the support of Jamaat-e-Islami. What is the stand of the Congress on this? The country knows Jamaat-e-Islami. Does the ideology of this organization match with democratic values? What does the Congress want to prove by refusing support."

Priyanka Gandhi had retaliated.

Congress candidate Priyanka Gandhi retaliated on this statement of CM Pinarayi Vijayan. "They should not try to divert attention from the issues. Elections should be fought on issues. Leaders should talk about development issues during elections."

While speaking to CM Pinarayi Vijayan, he said, "What have you done for Wayanad? You should talk about this. You should talk about those issues which affect the common life of the people. We should talk about issues like inflation, development, and unemployment.
