Weather Update: Due to a western disturbance, there will be heavy rain in these parts of the country including Himachal, alert issued

Many states of South India are in the grip of heavy rains. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted that heavy rains are likely to continue over the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry for the next three days. The Meteorological Department has also predicted that a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from November 4 and adjoining plains from November 5.

 

More rain is expected in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala

Many parts of Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are likely to receive thunderstorms on Friday. It rained in isolated parts of Kerala and Mahe on Thursday. Giving weather information, IMD said that rain and thundershowers are very likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, and Kerala and Mahe between November 05 and 07.

According to the Meteorological Department, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from November 4 and adjoining plains from November 5. Due to the Western Disturbance, rain is also expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh. Snowfall was also witnessed in the hilly areas from November 5 to 7. IMD said that from November 6 to 7 there may be snowfall in Uttarakhand with light rain.

 

Rain alert in many parts of Punjab

Along with this, IMD has issued rain alerts in different parts of Punjab from 05 to 07 November. On November 06, there is a possibility of snowfall with rain in the Kashmir Valley.
