...when the chairman of Ford company insulted Ratan Tata

When Indigo was first launched in the 90s, the company's sales did not meet expectations. At that time Tata Group decided to sell the passenger car division of Tata Motors which was facing challenges. For this, Ratan Tata spoke to Bill Ford, chairman of American car manufacturing company Ford Motors. During the conversation, Bill Ford made fun of him and said you don't know anything, why did you start the passenger car division? It would be a big favor to you if I made this deal. Ratan Tata was deeply hurt by these words of Ford Chairman but he did not express it. After that, he postponed his decision to sell the passenger car division and took revenge on them in his style.

This is how Ratan Tata took revenge for the insult after nine years

After postponing the deal with Ford, Ratan Tata returned home and focused on the car division of Tata Motors and took it to great heights. Nearly nine years after the conversation with the head of Ford, Tata Motors cars had made their mark all over the world. The company's cars were included in the world's best-selling category. On the other hand, the condition of Ford Company was worsening. Tata took the responsibility of bailing out the sinking Ford company and at the same time, he also took revenge for his insult nine years ago. To rescue Ford which was facing challenges, Ratan Tata offered to buy its popular brands Jaguar and Land Rover. But instead of going to America, he called Ford's chairman to India for a deal.

Instead of Ford Chairman, he praised Tata.

To avenge his insult, Ratan Tata, without saying anything, created such a situation that the Ford Chairman had to change his tune. While accepting Ratan Tata's offer in Mumbai, Ford Chairman Bill Ford said the same things about himself that he had once said while insulting Ratan Tata. During that time he thanked Ratan Tata and said, "You are doing us a big favor by purchasing the Jaguar and Land Rover series."
