The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in many parts of South India including Tamil Nadu and it is believed that the cyclonic storm is going to hit the coast of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh today. At the same time, due to snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, the cold has started increasing in North India. Dense fog has started spreading in many parts.
Falling mercury in Uttarakhand
With the onset of December, the temperature has started diving at night. Especially, the bone-chilling cold has started in the hilly parts of the state. It will increase further in the coming days. In the next few days, due to fog in the plains and frost in the mountains, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of a drop of two to three degrees Celsius in the minimum temperature. According to Bikram Singh, Director of the Meteorological Centre, the weather is likely to remain dry in the state for the next four days as well. During this, there is a possibility of frost in the mountains and fog at most places in the plains. Due to this, the minimum temperature is likely to decrease by two to three degrees Celsius.
Cold increased with the wind in Delhi-NCR
