I had come to Mumbai for a holiday and was staying with Simi Grewal. He was invited to the wedding. She took me along too. She wanted me to sing a Punjabi song. Then I met Yash Chopra for a very short time. He was persuading Hema Malini to do the film. I was singing when they came. He came to me and appreciated my singing. That was all.'
