What is India's preparation to deal with China, what is the big diplomatic change regarding the dragon in Modi Sarkar-2?

In recent times, once again the relations between China and India have become very tense. There is a war-like situation between the two countries. Even in such a situation, India is taking full restraint. That trickster is keeping a close watch on every activity of China. Dragon is increasing the number of its troops on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). He is collecting weapons on the LAC. He is completely pressurizing India to change the LAC. In such a situation, the question arises that how India will deal with this challenge of China. What is India's strategic strategy? India has changed its attitude towards China. What has changed in the diplomacy of Modi Sarkar-1 and Modi Sarkar-2 regarding China? Let us see how Professor Harsh V Pant (Director, Studies and Head of Strategic Studies Program at the Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi) views all these developments.

Do you see any change in India's diplomacy regarding China in Modi Sarkar-2?

See, diplomacy is not an indelible mark on a stone. That's why diplomacy means always going with change. Especially when the events in the world are changing very rapidly. The world has undergone rapid changes strategically and strategically in recent times after the Cold War. For example, in the year 2014, when Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country, it seemed that India-China relations were moving fast in the direction of improvement. China's Lobsang Sangay attended his swearing-in ceremony, but relations between the two countries have become quite strained in the following days. When China saw India's sensitivity as a weakness, then India also gave a befitting reply to it. Certainly, Modi Sarkar-2 has made a big change in its diplomacy towards China. India's policy towards China is no longer defensive. She has moved towards a degree of aggression and retaliation.

Is Modi Sarkar-2 giving a direct message to China?

The Modi government has made a big effort to improve relations with China. In Modi Sarkar-1, it seemed that the relations between the two countries were improving to a great extent, but in Modi Sarkar-2, one development changed the whole picture. The relations between the two countries have become very strained due to Chinese aggression in eastern Ladakh. It is not only India's responsibility to fix relations with China. China also has to think that this is not 1962. India's claim on the border is valid, but the Chinese claim has changed over time.

There has been a big difference in the diplomacy of Modi Sarkar-1 and Modi Sarkar-2. This change can be seen in the approach of Modi Sarkar-1, which has a liberal attitude towards China. Prime Minister Modi has shown great courage on the Ladakh issue. This is the result of changed circumstances. He also showed China that talks cannot be the answer to military attacks. That would be military action. What happened in the Ladakh episode was part of that strategy. He should be seen as such. India believes in maintaining friendly relations with its neighbors. India wants to resolve disputed issues through dialogue, but its policy should not be considered as a weakness. Modi has done it.

PM Modi congratulated the Dalai Lama on his birthday without worrying about China. It was an indirect message to China. It was clear from this strategy that if China raises sensitive issues of India, then India also has such opportunities. India has also been successful in conveying this message. Before this, the Government of India has been reluctant to do so. Modi showed this courage. Congratulating Modi to the Dalai Lama is a clear message. By doing this, Modi made it clear that China should care about India's sensitivity. Secondly, Modi had also given a message to an expatriate Tibet community in India with his move.

Should India expand infrastructure along its border?

Exactly, the way China is working towards increasing infrastructure on a large scale near the border with India. India should also act as fast as it should. Modi Sarkar-2 is doing the right thing in this direction. This preparation of China is not done yet. China has been preparing infrastructure along the LAC for the last two decades. He has also done the work of connecting the entire border with airstrips. Its fighter planes and helicopters can take off from these airstrips. Not only this, China has increased the number of soldiers on the border with India. According to a report, 50 thousand additional soldiers have been deployed on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). In this matter, China should act with restraint, otherwise, the situation may worsen.

How successful are the commander-level talks in normalizing the relations between the two countries?

The perception that China had made towards India in the 1950s. By coincidence or misfortune, he still holds on to it. China will have to understand that although it can continue the talks at the level of army commanders, it will also have to take practical steps. Now the relations between India and China have deteriorated to such a degree that there is not much to be gained or resolved by the commander-level talks. However, the strategy that India has adopted towards China on the LAC, its impact will be visible.

Military conflict in eastern Ladakh strained relations

Relations between the two countries have turned sour with the border dispute between China and India in eastern Ladakh last year. Chinese soldiers clash with the Indian Army in Galwan Valley of Ladakh. 20 Indian soldiers died in this conflict. After a long time, breaking the silence, China admitted that four soldiers were killed in this conflict. However, India claimed that many of its soldiers were killed in this conflict. China is constantly maintaining a tense situation along the LAC. Every day he is entering the Indian border in violation of international rules.
