The news agency has quoted BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) as saying that VVS Laxman and Anil Kumble are being approached for the new coach of Team India. At the same time, it is also being claimed in the media report that before these two, Mumbai Indians coach Mahela Jayawardene was also approached to become the coach of Team India.
Kumble's claim strong
After the departure of Ravi Shastri from the coach, Anil Kumble, who was the former coach of Team India, is considered strong. Earlier in 2016, Kumble was appointed the coach of the Indian team. He had decided to step down from this post in 2017. It was believed that Kumble had decided to step down from his post due to a rift with Indian captain Kohli.
Kumble had said in his resignation that he was surprised that Kohli had objections to his methods. Kumble had said that the BCCI had tried to resolve the rift between him and Kohli. According to the report, Virat has announced to step down from the T20 captain after the T20 World Cup. In such a situation, now Anil Kumble can be given the responsibility again.
Ganguly wanted Kumble to continue as coach
In 2017, when Kumble decided to step down from the post, Kohli had supported Ravi Shastri's replacement in his place. According to the report, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly wanted Kumble to continue as the coach. Ganguly was a member of the Cricket Reforms Committee at that time. VVS Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar were also members of this committee. His support was also for Kumble. Now once again BCCI is looking for ways to bring back Kumble as a coach. According to the report, Kumble has also been approached for this.

Laxman and Kumble will have to leave the post if they become coaches
VVS Laxman is the mentor of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Anil Kumble is the coach of Punjab Kings.
