Joe Biden has reached the magical figure of 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidential election in America. However, Republican nominee and incumbent President Donald Trump has challenged vote counting.
Let us tell you that Biden has so far garnered 264 electoral votes, while Trump has got 214 success. However, the counting of votes continues in five states. Pennsylvania and Nevada are prominent among them. Let me tell you that the path to the White House is still open to both contestants.
Joe Biden has won in major states including his home state of Delaware, California, New York, and Washington, and US media outlets forecast wins for Trump in 23 states, including Florida, Texas, Indiana, and Ohio. However, five states - Alaska (3 electoral votes), Georgia (16), Nevada (6), North Carolina (15), and Pennsylvania (20) are not included in the presidential race.
Alaska - Trump's party dominates Alaska, which will likely vote for Donald Trump. The suspense is not high here. Republican Senator Dan Sullivan is also likely to win elections for the US Senate.
Georgia- On Wednesday, the counting of votes in Georgia was delayed after a pipe burst at a site in Fulton County. Here election officials were counting absentee ballots. Georgia is one of the states where Trump's team has filed a lawsuit to stop counting late-arriving ballots.
Nevada - Counting continues in this state. It will accept mail ballots until 10 November, as long as they have the stamp on Election Day.
North Carolina- North Carolina, too, will accept mail ballots that arrive by 12 November. Donald Trump leads Biden in his state.
Pennsylvania- In the critical state of Pennsylvania, which has 20 electoral votes, the counting of votes has resumed. Trump has also filed a lawsuit here, claiming that increased voting by mail has led to widespread fraud.
However, President Donald Trump told supporters on Wednesday that the Republican Party had won the election. At the same time, Democratic candidate Joe Biden gave a message to his supporters to maintain confidence. Trump said, "As far as I'm concerned, we've won the election. We've won everything. They can't chase us."
On Thursday morning, Biden also predicted a win. Biden reported, according to the news agency Reuters, "It is clear that we are succeeding in winning enough states. I am not here declaring that we have won. But I am here to say that when the count is over If we go, we are confident that we will be the winner. ''
