Why corona patients are not getting treatment and medicine, AIIMS director Dr. Randeep Guleria explained the reason

Posted on 26th Apr 2021 06:22 pm by rohit kumar

The number of corona patients in the country is increasing and most of them are not getting beds. About this, Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director of AIIMS Delhi, said that whatever comes to Covid positive, it gets panic that I do not need to be oxygen and hospitalized later, so I am admitted now. This causes a lot of congestion outside the hospitals and real patients do not get treatment.

People store medicines in panic

Dr. Guleria said that due to this panic, people start to store medicines at home. Due to this, there is a needless shortage of essential medicines in the market. Many people think that if there is a corona, then I start all the medicine on the first day, it causes more side effects.

Oxygen is important in the treatment of Covid.

Dr. Guleria said that people already keep oxygen cylinders at home. People feel that if I already keep it at my home, then maybe there will be no trouble if needed further. These are all misconceptions. He said that Oxigen is an important strategy towards the treatment of Covid, but its misuse is also being seen. If we talk about oxygen saturation, which is being seen today through Oximeter. If it is between 90 and 100 then we should not panic.

Isolate yourself at home if you have any symptoms

AIIMS director said that if you have any symptoms of Covid, then isolate yourself in the house, do not wait for the report to come. Many times RT-PCR test can also be negative because its sensitivity is not 100%. Even in that case, it should be assumed that you are corona positive and should be treated.

Corona's 82 percent cases were correct

Earlier, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Love Agarwal said that 82% of corona cases have been cured in the country at this time. About 16.25% of the cases i.e. 28,13,658 cases are still because of active cases. Which is being monitored. Aggarwal said that there are some states where the number of active cases remains high. Which includes the states of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu.

Medical oxygen production has increased

Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs said that the production of medical oxygen has increased. Our oxygen production capacity is 7,259 metric tons and on April 24, 9,103 metric tons of oxygen has been produced.

A vaccine to people over 18 years of age from 1 May

The Corona vaccination campaign is being run vigorously to fight against Corona in the country. After 60 years and above 45 years, the central government has now allowed vaccination for those above 18 years of age from 1 May. At this time, 14,19,00,000 corona doses have been made all over the country so far.
