Vicky Kaushal starrer 'Uri' was released in theaters on 11 January 2019 at the box office. The film was based on the 2016 surgical strike. The film 'The Accidental Prime Minister also came with Uri on 11 January 2019. The role of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was played by Bollywood actor Anupam Kher in the film. PM Narendra Modi

The film is based on the padayatra of YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 2004 to 2009. The film was released on 8 February 2019. It was a Telugu biographical film, in which South actor Mammootty played the role of CM.

Director Rupesh Paul's film 'My Name is Raga' was also released before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
