Uttarakhand Cloudburst: One woman died in Rudraprayag, cloudburst also caused devastation in Chamoli, Tehri, and many people are missing

Incidents of cloudburst have been reported at different places in Uttarakhand. A woman died after being buried under debris in Tendwal village of Rudraprayag district. While 18 to 20 people are reported missing here. At the same time, a cloudburst has also occurred in the Dewal block of Chamoli district. In which a husband and wife are missing, and two people were injured, as well as 20 cattle were buried under the debris.

 

A cloudburst has also occurred in Genwali village of Bhilangana block of Tehri. Fortunately, there is no report of any loss of life here. Apart from this, a cloudburst has also occurred in Rudraprayag. Heavy rain has caused extensive damage at many places, including Chenagad, Bangar of Jakholi block.

The heavy rain that has been going on since late Thursday night continues on Friday as well. Heavy destruction has occurred due to a cloudburst in Mopata of Tehsil Dewal on Thursday night. Some houses are reported to be buried under debris. District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari said that Tara Singh and his wife living in Mopata, are reported missing. While Vikram Singh and his wife are injured. Their residence and cowshed are reported to be buried under the debris. 15 to 20 animals are also reported to be buried under the debris.

 

Holiday declared in schools of all blocks of Chamoli district today

 

The DM said that the team of the tehsil administration has left for the spot. Here, in view of heavy rains, a holiday has been declared on Friday in all the development blocks of Chamoli district. Due to heavy rains, roads in Dewal have broken at many places. People in Tharali are also scared due to the rain at night. Heavy rains are also occurring in Adibadri, Karnaprayag.

The water level of the Alaknanda and Pindar rivers has also increased. The road has been closed due to boulders and debris falling from the hill in Subhashnagar of Karnaprayag.

 

Cloud burst in the Bhilangana block of Tehri too

 

A cloud burst occurred last night over Genwali village of Bhilangana block. District Disaster Management Officer Brijesh Bhatt said that there has been no loss of life due to a cloud burst. Agricultural land, drinking water line, and power lines have been damaged. The Revenue Department team has left for Genwali village. Footbridges and paths have broken at different places.
