
This year on June 21, on World Yoga Day, Andhra Pradesh will create a new record with 2.5 lakh people doing yoga at one place. With this, the record of 1.46 lakh people doing yoga together in Surat, Gujarat, set in 2023, will be broken. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be present in the Yoga Day program organized in Visakhapatnam.
According to Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Y Satya Kumar, mass yoga will be organized on the 26.5 km long beach in Visakhapatnam. In which Prime Minister Modi along with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and other dignitaries will participate.
Along with this, a target has been set to have a total of two crore people participate in yoga at various places in Andhra Pradesh, which has a population of about five crore, which will also be a record of those doing yoga in a day in any state.
According to Satya Kumar, the purpose behind celebrating Yoga Day on such a large scale is to make the people of the state aware of yoga as well as to develop Andhra Pradesh as a medical tourism. It is worth noting that after the initiative of Prime Minister Modi government, the United Nations declared June 21 as World Yoga Day.
