Pakistan's Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, who is on a visit to the United States, has expressed his government's desire. He has said that Pakistan is ready to buy fuel from Russia if it gives us the same rate at which it is selling oil to India. The minister also claimed that western countries would have no problem procuring subsidized fuel from Pakistan. He said that his country is grappling with the devastating effects of the floods.

Pakistan has approved its intention to buy oil from Russia. Pakistan's ambassador to Moscow Shafqat Ali Khan said that his country wants to buy wheat from Russia. "Russia has emerged as a new supplier for us. We see Russia as a long-term and stable partner when it comes to our food supply," the ambassador said.
