Women's team won ODI series in England after 23 years: Beat the British by 88 runs, Captain Harmanpreet scored 143 runs in 111 balls

Indian women's cricket team won the second match against England in Canterbury by 88 runs. With this, the Indian team has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Harmanpreet Singh's captaincy team has won the ODI series after 23 years on the soil of England. Earlier, India had won 2-1 in 1999 under the captaincy of Anjum Chopra.

 

Batting first in the match, India had scored a mountain-like score of 333 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 50 overs. This is Team India's highest score in ODIs against England. Harmanpreet Kaur scored 143 runs in just 111 while playing stormy innings. During this, 18 fours and 4 sixes came off his bat. This was his 5th century in ODI cricket. She also became the first Asia captain to score a century in ODIs in England.

 

Playing retaliatory innings, the entire team of England was all-out for 245 runs in 44.2 overs.

 

Harleen Deol also hit fifty

 

Apart from Harmanpreet, Harleen Deol also played brilliant innings of 58 runs in the match. He faced 72 balls. Team India added 71 runs in the last 24 balls. Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma shared a partnership of 71 runs in just 24 balls for the sixth wicket. Deepti contributed 15 runs in this partnership. At the same time, Harmanpreet scored 43 runs in the last 11 balls of his innings.

 

Renuka Singh took 4 wickets

 

For Team India, fast bowler Renuja Singh took 4 wickets while bowling brilliantly. He spent 57 runs in 10 overs. At the same time, Hemlata got 2, while Deepti Singh and Shefali Verma got 1-1 success.

 

Mandhana breaks Mithali Raj's record

 

In this match, Smriti Mandhana completed her 3,000 runs in ODI cricket. She became the third Indian player to achieve this feat in women's ODIs. Before him, former Indian captain Mithali Raj and current captain Harmanpreet Kaur have done this.
