In the third ODI, Afghanistan, batting first, scored 236 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. In response, the Irish team collapsed for 119 runs. In the match, Mohammad Nabi took five wickets and debutant spinner Nangeyalia Kharote took four wickets.

Afghanistan, batting first in the third ODI against Ireland, scored 236 runs at the loss of 9 wickets. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran provided a good start for Afghanistan. There were 62 runs between the two for the first wicket, but Barry McCarthy dismissed Zadran in the 11th over.

A partnership of 97 runs was made between the pair of captains Hashmatullah Shahidi and Mohammad Nabi. Captain Shahidi played an inning of 69 runs and thus the team's score reached 236 runs.
In reply, Ireland had a poor start. Ireland got its first blow in the third over, where Andy was out after scoring 1 run. A half-century partnership was formed between Captain Paul Stirling and Curtis Campher. Stirling scored 50 runs and Campher scored 43 runs.
After this, the process of falling wickets started for Ireland. Mohammad Nabi did not allow the Irish batsmen to stop at the crease. Nabi took five wickets while debutant Nangeyalia Kharote got four wickets. Ireland was all out after scoring 119 runs in 35 overs and Afghanistan won the match by 117 runs.
