Elections are over in 5 states including UP, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Goa. After two days i.e. on March 10, the results of all the five states will be declared. After this, the political equations will change. The exercise and manipulation to form a new government will start. This is a matter of politics.
Now about the common man. Many big changes will be seen once the elections are over. For example, inflation may increase. Petrol and diesel can increase the burden on our pockets. From kitchen to necessities, the prices may increase. Many plans may be put on hold.
1. Petrol-Diesel prices will rise
Due to the Russo-Ukraine war, the prices of crude oil in the global market are increasing continuously. Petroleum companies are suffering because of this. Despite this, due to the assembly elections in 5 states, there was no change in the price of petrol and diesel in the Indian market, but now after the completion of the elections, their prices will see a rapid jump.
At the beginning of November last year, when the hike in petrol and diesel prices was stopped, the price of crude oil was $ 81.5 per barrel, which has now crossed the mark of $130 per barrel. ICICI Securities said. A report has said that the companies selling retail oil are upset due to the increase in the prices of crude oil in the global market. To make up for their loss, they will have to increase the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 12.1 per liter on or before March 16, 2022. If the margins of oil companies are included in this, then the prices can increase by up to Rs 15.1 per liter.
Even before the prices have increased after the elections
This trend has also been seen in the recent elections. During the Bihar elections in 2020, the prices of crude oil increased, but the prices of petrol and diesel did not increase, but as soon as the election was over, the prices increased 15 times in 28 days. Similar happened in West Bengal also. In the next 75 days after the elections, the price of petrol and diesel was increased 41 times.
2. LPG cylinders will be expensive, may increase by Rs 15 per kg
After the rise in crude oil prices, oil companies can increase the prices of LPG. According to media reports, the prices of LPG may increase by up to Rs 15 per kg in the coming days. Recently, oil companies have increased the prices of commercial gas cylinders by Rs 105.
3. Will stop getting free ration
In March 2020 during Corona, the government started the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. Under this scheme, 5 kg of food grains per person is given free of cost to every family. The government claims that it is giving free ration every month to 80 crore people of the country. The term of this scheme is expiring in March. The government has extended its date many times, but now that the elections are over, it is believed that this plan will not be carried forward. That is, poor families may stop getting free rations.
4. Now you will have to pay the outstanding electricity bill
There was a ban on the recovery of outstanding electricity bills during Corona, but for the last few days, the process of recovery has started in many states. The teams of the electricity department are taking continuous action. Due to the elections, in the states where the recovery of electricity bills was on hold, now people in those states will also have to pay the outstanding electricity bills.
