The Indian team suffered a crushing defeat by 100 runs in the second ODI against England. With this win, England leveled the three-match ODI series 1-1. After being all out for 246 runs, England fast bowler Reece Topley forced the Indian batting to kneel with 6 wickets. The Indian team was reduced to a score of 146. The game saw the return of Virat Kohli, who was not a part of the first match due to a groin injury. However, he could not show much in the second ODI and once again lost wickets after getting a good start. He scored 16 runs.

Virat Kohli's bad phase is still going on. Several former cricketers have given their opinion on the possible reasons for the Indian batsman's struggle. Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif also spoke about Kohli after India's defeat on Thursday. He insisted that the player needs to consult the best coaches in India. He also told that Kohli and New Zealand captain Kane Williamson are going through a similar situation.

Latif said on his official YouTube channel, "Modern cricket is different. Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Kohli, Rohit Sharma...everyone has some or the other weakness and they get exposed soon because of the technology we have now. But he hasn't changed his game. Kane Williamson is also going through a bad phase like Kohli. Short-length delivery is a weakness for them. They all have to go over their basics, you need to consult your best coaches and work on your weaknesses.

The former Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman also spoke on Sourav Ganguly's statement regarding Kohli's struggle. The BCCI president had said that the India star has to find his way and succeed, and Latif criticized the statement, insisting that the 33-year-old India batsman was being made a scapegoat.

Latif said, "You are talking about a player. But the entire Indian team is also not winning consistently. You are placing a gun on Virat's shoulders and keeping the rest of the players safe. You look at the 2019 World Cup, and the 2021 T20 World Cup. Even when Virat didn't perform, what were others doing?
