The new year has started with a cold winter. Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 5.5 on Sunday. Dense fog prevailed in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. On the other hand, a speeding tractor overturned due to fog in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh. Three farmers died in the accident.
At the same time, visibility remained very low in many parts of the country. Visibility was recorded at 25 meters in Ambala, Dehradun, Bareilly, and Varanasi on Sunday morning, while it was 50 meters in Chandigarh, Patiala, Bahraich, Gaya, Purnia, Kailashahar, and Agartala.
Delhi: Temperature reaches 5.5 degrees amid dense fog
Dense fog enveloped the capital Delhi with a severe cold on Sunday. Due to this, the minimum temperature was recorded at 5.5. Visibility was also very less. However, the minimum temperature of the city was recorded at 10.7 and 10.2 degrees on Friday and Saturday.
Madhya Pradesh: New year begins amidst fog and haze
Dense fog enveloped many cities of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. The first day of the year began in Vidisha amid dense fog and bitter cold. There was less movement of people here till 10 am. On the other hand, dense fog was seen in Ujjain along with the cold wave.
UP: Not a single flight landed in Kanpur, and visibility reduced in many areas
Dense fog enveloped Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. Along with the cold wave in Lucknow, there was dense fog in the morning. Here in Jalaun, a tractor overturned due to fog. Three people died in the accident. On the other hand, on the last day of the year i.e. on Saturday, fog affected trains, buses, and flights.
In this affair, Spice Jet Mumbai, Delhi, and Indigo's Bangalore and Mumbai flights neither came nor went on Saturday. When Spice Jet was informed later, the passengers faced problems. Along with this, 47 buses were canceled if the passengers did not reach the bus stand in the morning.
Rajasthan: Temperature reached 10 degrees, Fatehpur was the coldest on Saturday
It is bitterly cold in Rajasthan on Sunday. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in major cities here has been recorded below 10 degrees. On the other hand, Sikar's Fatehpur reached 1 degree on Saturday. Saturday night was the coldest here. Churu also recorded a minimum temperature of 1.6 degrees.
Apart from this, Hanumangarh and Chittorgarh recorded 3.3 degrees, Sikar 3.5 degrees, Bhilwara 4 degrees, Karauli 4.2 degrees, Alwar and Pilani 4.8 degrees, Dabok 6 degrees, Phalodi 6.2 and Anta 6.3 degrees Celsius.
Haryana: Temperature reaches 7.9 degrees, and fog becomes a disaster for people
In Haryana's Karnal district, the cold intensified with dense fog on Sunday. In the middle of winter, the fog has become a disaster for the people. The fog remained till 12 noon. Visibility was extremely low due to the fog and the vehicles crawled.
The minimum temperature was 7.9 degrees while Saturday's minimum temperature was 8.2 degrees. The maximum temperature increased. The maximum temperature was recorded at 17 degrees, which was 16.5 degrees on Saturday.
