PM Modi In Kolkata-Bihar: Armed Forces Commanders Conference starts today, PM will inaugurate it in Kolkata; will also reach Bihar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the three-day joint conference of Armed Forces Commanders at the Eastern Command Headquarters in Kolkata today. The theme of this year's conference, which focuses on reforms, transformation and operational preparedness, is Year of Reforms - Transformation for the Future. The main objective of this conference is to show the commitment of the armed forces towards institutional reforms, deep integration, and technological modernization, and to maintain a high level of multi-domain operational readiness.

 

PM Modi will leave for Bihar after Kolkata.

 

Earlier, the Prime Minister reached Kolkata from Jorhat in Assam on Sunday evening. He stayed overnight at the Raj Bhavan. An official associated with the PM's visit said that this is the PM's second visit to Kolkata in less than a month. He said that Modi will inaugurate the conference at Vijay Durg, the Eastern Command Headquarters of the Indian Army, on Monday morning and will leave for Purnia in Bihar in the afternoon. Vijay Durg was earlier called Fort William.

 

Many personalities, including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, will attend

The official said that this conference in Kolkata is being held after Operation Sindoor in May. The ceremony will be attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, among others.

 

What is CCC

The Combined Commanders' Conference (CCC) serves as a brainstorming platform for the armed forces. It brings together the country's top civilian and military leaders to exchange views at the ideological and strategic levels. The last CCC was held in Bhopal in 2023, which was also inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi.

 

Officers of various ranks will interact.

A statement from the Ministry of Defence said that the aim of the three-day deliberations is to further strengthen the armed forces. In this, interactive sessions will be organized with officers and employees of various ranks of the armed forces.

 

Second Bihar visit in a month, will inaugurate the National Makhana Board

The Prime Minister will visit Bihar for the second time within a month on September 15, where he will inaugurate the National Makhana Board. This board will promote production and development of new technology, strengthen post-harvest management, promote value addition and processing and facilitate market, export and brand development of Makhana.

 

Inauguration of Airport Terminal in Purnia

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the interim terminal building of the airport in Purnia, which will increase the passenger handling capacity in the region. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several development projects in Purnia costing about Rs 36,000 crore.

 

Largest private sector investment of Rs 25,000 crore in Bihar

Will lay the foundation stone of the thermal power project at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur, which will be the largest private sector investment of Rs 25,000 crore in Bihar. During this, PM will also lay the foundation stone of the first phase of the Kosi-Mechi inter-state river connectivity project costing more than Rs 2680 crore.

 

Plans to inaugurate and lay foundation stones of rail projects

In line with his commitment to improve rail connectivity, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of rail projects and flag off several trains. Apart from other projects, he will also participate in Griha Pravesh ceremonies for 35,000 rural beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) and 5,920 urban beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and hand over keys to some of the beneficiaries.
