This is the first time in the 100-year history of the UP Board that the Inter exam has been canceled.
CM Yogi held a meeting with the Deputy CM and officials of the Education Department at Lok Bhavan on Thursday morning. Apart from CBSE, ICSE, the governments of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan had canceled the board exams. In such a situation, there was already a strong possibility that the UP government would also cancel the exam. The government has already canceled the 10th examination of the UP board.
After the decision, the Deputy CM said that it may take some time to control the infection. Because of this, PM Narendra Modi reviewed different states. After this, the central government had canceled the CBSE board's 10th and 12th examinations. Today we have decided to cancel the UP Board 12th exams. This decision has been taken keeping in view the safety of the students. However, it is being told that Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma had made preparations to conduct the 12th examination. But because of the fear of the third wave of Corona, the government thought it better to cancel the examination.
The meeting lasted for about 30 minutes
Earlier, along with CM Yogi, there was a meeting of about 30 minutes with the officials of the Education Board including Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma. The meeting which started at 10:30 ended at 11:00. The committee prepared by the Education Board presented the report to the Chief Minister. In this, after the cancellation of the examination, other options were suggested for the candidates.
26 lakh students in 12th in UP
26 lakh 9 thousand 501 students are registered for the UP Board 12th examination. UP Board high school exams have already been canceled. CBSE and CICSE have also announced the cancellation of class 12 exams. Now on what basis the result of high school and 12th should be prepared. Its alternatives are being considered. The government has also formed a separate committee for this.
The board secretary had asked for the marks of the pre-board
Board secretary Divyakant Shukla had asked all the schools for class 12 pre-board and 11th half-yearly and annual examination marks from all the schools on 22 May itself, by 28 May most of the schools fed the students' marks on the online portal.
UP board preparation also completed
The board has asked for the record of the class 12 preboard examination held in February.
