There is a dental emergency in the UK. In waiting for the dentist, the condition of many people has become so bad that they are pulling out their teeth, so that other teeth can be saved. Those who waited for treatment from the dentist, many of them have to be admitted to the emergency due to pain. Even after getting admitted, it is not possible to get treatment from the dentist. A woman was fed up with these conditions and uprooted her 13 teeth by herself. There is a huge shortage of dentists in government hospitals that patients are being returned without treatment. People put up numbers to meet the dentist and when they reach on time, they come to know that the appointment has been canceled. Dentists working in a government hospital say, 'If the salary was reduced due to Corona, then only about 2000 dentists left work last year. There has been little financial support from the government for the last decade. Fewer new dentists were hired.

Only 32 dentists for 1 lakh people

Now the Health Department has announced a grant of Rs 400 crore for the appointment of more than 3 lakh dentists, but this will not happen immediately. There are only 32 dentists in UK government hospitals to treat 1 lakh people. More than 30 lakh people suffering from a toothache are not getting treatment facilities even after roaming 64 km. The figures till June 2021 are showing that only 33% of people could go to the dentist and get treatment as compared to the need.

38 thousand taking only the private hospital of pain killer

19 thousand rupees are being demanded from people before going to a private hospital for toothache. Many people openly told that even after being given only painkillers in the form of medicine, 38 thousand rupees were collected from them.
