Two terrorists of the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist organization have been killed in this encounter. One jawan has also been sacrificed while six jawans have been injured. According to the information, at 4.25 am on Friday, the terrorists suddenly attacked the CISF bus near Chatha Camp with a grenade. There was 15 CISF personnel on the bus. Both the terrorists went into hiding soon after this attack. After this attack, the encounter of security forces with the terrorists started and after five hours both were killed.
Security has been tightened around Jammu city after the ongoing encounter in Sunjwan. Every passing vehicle is being searched through the nakas located in the inner and outer areas of the city. An ASI SP Patil of CIS has been sacrificed in the ongoing encounter in Sunjwan. Six injured jawans in the encounter have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. They have been identified as Head Constable Balraj Singh, son of Sansar Singh, resident of Balot Kathua, SPO Sahil Shamar, son of Romesh Chandra, resident of Jyodian Akhnoor, Head Constable Pramod Patra, son of Lakshmi Dhar Patra, resident of Odisha, CISF constable Amir Soran, son of Sushil Soran, resident of Assam, CISF constable Bittal and Head. Constable CISF has happened as R Nitin resident of Maharashtra. Mobile internet service has also been suspended in the Sunjwan area due to security reasons.
The decision to keep 11 schools closed
Schools located in the surrounding areas of Sunjwan and Bathinda have also been closed. The management committee of Jodhamal School located in the area has decided to keep it closed today. Meanwhile, the Chief Education Officer of Jammu has issued an order to keep 10 private and government schools closed as a precaution. These include Higher Secondary School Sunjwan, High School Bathinda, IDPS Sunjwan, RM Public School Chauadi, High School Chauadi, Doon School, DS Heritage, Birla Open Mind School, British International School, and GPS Chauadi.
According to the information, there was information about the hiding of terrorists in the Jalalabad area of Sunjwan in the early hours of Friday. After this, during the search operation, the terrorists hiding in one place started firing on the security forces. Before retaliation, the security forces warned the terrorists to surrender but the terrorists ignored it and continued firing. The security forces retaliated and killed the terrorists, while it has not been confirmed officially yet. Since there is also a visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Jammu on 24th April. Keeping this in view, the security system in the state is already on high alert.
