A new pattern of terror funding has emerged in Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmiri terrorists present in Pakistan and PoK are selling their ancestral property and the price received from it is being provided to terrorist organizations. On this new pattern of funding, a source said – Till a few years ago, hundreds of Kashmiri youth used to go to Pakistan and POK to take terror training. Some came back and some stayed there. Their property is in the valley.
These properties are sold with the help of revenue officials, and relatives. This amount is given to the terrorist organizations of the valley and the same amount is given to the terrorist sitting in Pakistan or PoK. Security agencies have identified dozens of properties that were illegally sold with the help of some officers. Action will also be taken against revenue officers, relatives, and helpers who help in selling the property.
The government will ban the sale of property
The government has also decided to impose restrictions on the sale and transfer of any such property. In this, there is a part of any terrorist living in POK or Pakistan. All such previous sales will be declared invalid and the property will be forfeited. The probe agency has identified dozens of such properties in Kupwara, Baramulla, Srinagar, and other districts from which crores of rupees have been transferred to terrorist organizations.
The CID has also identified such properties and their suspicious sale in a separate investigation. According to sources, there are hundreds of Kashmiris in Pakistan and PoK. Not all are terrorists. Some of them are leading normal lives, but in dozens of cases, people are still actively promoting and funding terrorism. It is noteworthy that in the last few years, the Jammu administration has tightened the noose on terror funding in the Valley.
Even terrorists used to raise funds from the sale of MBBS seats in PoK. In the past, the administration has arrested many gangsters of this gang and has invalidated the MBBS degree to be done in PoK. Apart from this, no funding is coming from Pakistan even due to tight security on the LOC. Action has also been taken on money coming from Hawala. That's why terrorists are looking for new ways of funding.
