A pink cold knocked in Delhi, snowfall started in the mountains; Rain alerts issued for many states

The pink cold has knocked in the national capital Delhi-NCR. Subar and evening weather have changed a lot. For the last one or two days, a drop in the morning temperature is being recorded. It is snowing in the higher hilly areas of Uttarakhand and Himachal. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert in several states of South India.

 

It started raining on Sunday evening

According to IMD, rains may occur over North Coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh on November 21 and 22. Light rains have started over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas of North Tamil Nadu since Sunday evening.

 

It will rain in these areas for the next few days

The Meteorological Department said that its intensity is likely to increase with light to moderate rain in many places. Rainfall at isolated places is very likely over North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema on the 21st and 22nd of November. Light to moderate rain is likely at a few places over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period.

 

Strong winds will blow at high speed

Meanwhile, wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph is very likely to prevail over the southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Sri Lanka coasts during the next few days. Squally wind speed reaching 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph very likely over the Gulf of Mannar on 21st and 22nd November. Strong winds will prevail over west-central and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, and north Tamil Nadu till November 23.

 

The holiday was done in schools due to rain

Significantly, many parts of Tamil Nadu received heavy rains in the last few days. Due to the rains, the water-logging situation had arisen in many cities including the capital Chennai. The state and local administration had declared a holiday for the schools due to the rain. Chief Minister Stalin also reviewed the relief work by meeting with the officials.
