A surprising case has come to light from Maharashtra regarding the corona vaccine. Filing a petition in the Bombay High Court, the father of a medical professor has demanded a compensation of Rs 1,000 crore. In the petition, he has alleged that his daughter died due to the side effects of the corona vaccine.
In the petition, the Serum Institute of India, which makes the Covidshield vaccine, its partner Bill Gates, central government, and state government officials have been made parties.
what is the whole matter?
According to petitioner Dilip Lunavat, his 33-year-old daughter Snehal Lunavat was a senior lecturer in a medical college in Nagpur. He took the first dose of Covishield on 28 January 2021 at Nashik. On February 5, he had a severe headache. On contacting the doctor, he was given migraine medicine, after which he felt better. He then traveled to Gurgaon on 6 February and at 2 am on 7 February he vomited with fatigue.
On being admitted to the nearby Aryan Hospital, Snehal was told that he might have bleeding in the brain. He was taken to another hospital as the neurosurgeon was not present. There the doctors suspected Snehal of having a blood clot in the brain, after which he suffered a brain hemorrhage. Doctors performed surgery to remove the blood clot. After this, Snehal was also on a ventilator for 14 days, but there was no improvement in her condition. He died on 1 March 2021.
Vaccine safe claims false: Nunavut
Lunavat says that since his daughter was a health worker, she was forced to take the vaccine. According to him, the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) and the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) have made false statements on the safety of the vaccine. The petitioner has also accused Serum Institute of giving false feedback. They say that no side effects of the vaccine have been found, it is wrong to say.
It has been claimed in the petition that the After Effects Following Immunization (AEFI) Committee of the Central Government had admitted on 2 October 2021 that Snehal died due to the side effect of the vaccine.
Lunavat has said that he should get the amount of compensation from the responsible officials of the state and Serum Institute, Pune, the manufacturer of the Covishield vaccine. It has also been said in the petition that Snehal should be declared a martyr and a dedicated research institute should also be opened in his name.
