Nine people were killed and 13 were injured in two blasts in Afghanistan's Mazar-e-Sharif area on Thursday evening. According to Tolo News, the terrorists had targeted the minibus for the blast. Police have cordoned off the area and started an investigation.

Terrorist organization Islamic State Khorasan (ISIS-K) has claimed responsibility for the attack. Police spokesman Mohammad Asif Waziri said that the target of the attacker was people from the Shia community. Terrorist organizations are trying to spread fear among our people.

Mazar-e-Sharif is considered an important city for trade in Afghanistan. It is the capital of Bach Province. This Shia-dominated area is always a target of terrorists.

Shia mosque was attacked even a week ago

A week ago, there was a fidayeen attack in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif, a Shia mosque. In this, 20 people died on the spot, and 66 people were injured. The Taliban have lost control of many parts of Afghanistan in recent days. These include Bach Province. Islamic State is taking over here.

33 killed in the blast in Sahib district

Apart from this, 33 people were killed and 43 others were injured in an explosion at a mosque in Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province four days ago. At the time of the blast, most of the people had gathered in the mosque to offer prayers. The UN Security Council also condemned the attack.

Terrorist incidents have increased exponentially since the Taliban took over Afghanistan in August last year. In most cases, Shia-dominated areas remain the target of terrorists. On the other hand, the economic crisis in the country is also continuously deepening.
