Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly is almost certain to step down from the post of BCCI President. On this Ganguly has said in Kolkata that you cannot always play for the team nor can you always be in administration.
During this, the BCCI President gave a hint of the future and said- 'They are thinking of doing something big and moving forward. He has been an administrator for a long time and now wants to do something else.
50-year-old Ganguly said- 'I was the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal for 5 years. I have been the President of BCCI for years. As an administrator, you have to contribute a lot to the team and make things better. As a player, I understood it. I thoroughly enjoyed my time as an administrator. You cannot always play in the team or be in the administration.
Let us inform here that it was decided to remove Ganguly from this post 3 days ago. Media reports claimed that Ganguly had not even filed his nomination for the post of Board President. In such a situation, Roger Binny, who was part of the 1983 World Champion team, is almost certain to become the board president.
Reports also said that Ganguly wanted to continue in the post, but the board meeting held in Mumbai on October 11 was not supported by representatives from different state boards.
Ganguly was offered the IPL chairman's post, but the former Indian captain turned it down, saying he does not want to head any of its sub-committees once he steps down from the BCCI president.
