Alarm bells have rung for Shreyas Iyer, will the leaves be cut from the Asia Cup?

Team India's middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer has cemented his place in the ODI team, but his troubles seem to be increasing in the T20 team. Iyer has got a lot of opportunities in T20 Internationals so far, but he has not been able to take advantage of it, apart from his lack of getting out on the short ball is also evident. Now it has to be seen whether he can show something amazing in the remaining two T20 International matches of the current series against West Indies.

After the 2021 T20 World Cup, Rahul Dravid became the head coach of the team, while Rohit Sharma got the captaincy. Together, these two made a plan to give ample opportunity to all the players to prove themselves and so far it seems to be happening, but Iyer seems to have missed the opportunity given one after the other. Dravid has given Iyer a chance in nine T20Is in the last two-and-a-half months but despite getting a chance to play in the first 10 overs, he could not score a half-century even once. If Iyer gets a chance in the last two matches, he will have no option but to score big.

Suryakumar Yadav, who surprised everyone with his best shot in the last match, can get the support of his captain Rohit Sharma in the top order this time. In the third match, Rohit had to leave the crease due to back pain. Then he was playing on 11 runs. But after three days of rest, he will be ready to play. While Rohit will also look at the performance of his batsmen, his eyes will also be on Rishabh Pant, who has been seen struggling in the T20 format. India is currently leading 2-1 in the series. The first three matches were played on Caribbean soil, while the remaining two matches are now to be played in Florida, USA.
