World Health Organization (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has asked China to share data regarding Covid-19 so that the causes of the virus can be understood. "We urge China to share data to better understand the causes of this virus," the WHO chief said in a statement posted on the organization's website.
The virus started in Wuhan, China!
Significantly, three years ago, Corona cases started coming in Wuhan, China. How the coronavirus started is still a matter of debate. Experts have put forward two reasons for the origin of the virus. The first reason is that SARS-CoV-2 is the result of a natural zoonotic spillover. Another reason is that the virus infected humans as a result of a research-related incident.
WHO hopes for Covid-19
According to the news agency Reuters, the WHO meets at intervals to decide whether the coronavirus, which has killed more than 6.6 million people, is still a cause of international concern. The WHO chief said he expected the COVID-19 pandemic not to be considered a global health emergency until next year. He said, 'We hope that sometime next year we will be able to say that Covid-19 is no longer a global health emergency.
Tedros Adhanom recalled the introduction of the Omicron variant a year ago. He said that at that time the coronavirus was killing 50 thousand people every week. Last week less than 10 thousand people lost their lives in the world. Still, 10 thousand is too much. There is still much that all countries can do to save lives. We have come a long way in this.
