The storm had reached a distance of 1060 km around 05:30 am. At a speed of 13 kilometers per hour, it is moving towards the northeast. This storm is located 940 km from Paradip Beach in Odisha.

GK Das has told that during the next 6 hours i.e. by Monday afternoon, this storm will intensify and will move rapidly towards the northeast. On May 20, in the afternoon or in the evening this cyclone may hit Digha beach.

At that time its speed is likely to be very high, which can cause huge loss of life and property. An alert has been sent to the state government about this. Yellow alert has been issued for seaside areas.

Two teams of NDRF deployed

The West Bengal government has also not delayed in taking precautions. On Sunday itself, two teams of NDRF were deployed, who are busy in bringing the people living on the shores to safe places in Sagar Deep of South 24 Parganas.

The second team has been deployed on the beach of Digha. This team is coordinating with the district administration and securing the people living on the shore.

Just a few months ago, the Bulbul cyclonic storm came, due to which West Bengal suffered a loss of 28 thousand crores. More than 10 people were killed, while millions of houses were damaged. In view of this, this time the Bengal government has become particularly alert so that loss of life and property can be avoided.
