pinaka missile
This is the third version of the Pinaka missile developed indigenously. The first two versions had a range of 40 and 75 km. The range of this advanced version is 120 km. An advance navigation and control system has been installed in this missile. Due to this, the firepower has become very accurate.
During the Kargil war, Pinaka had hit hard on the Pakistani soldiers who were occupying the mountains. Pinaka is fired from a launcher mounted on a truck. Twelve rockets can be fired in 44 seconds. Each rocket can carry up to 250 kg of bombs. It attacks its target at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour.
Pinaka Mark-I was accurate in the Kargil war
The Pinaka Mark-I variant was used by the Indian Army during the Kargil War of 1999. Due to this the Pakistani posts posted on the mountain posts were targeted with precision and forced the enemy to retreat in the war. The system that fires the Pinaka missile is called the Pinaka rocket system, which has been launched on the army vehicle itself.
