Azam Khan: Azam Khan was released from jail after getting interim bail from Supreme Court, Shivpal Yadav was present at the time of release

SP MLA Azam Khan has been released from Sitapur jail after 812 days. Azam Khan came out of jail at 8:06 am. The jail administration had received the release order of the SP MLA at around noon late on Thursday. On the other hand, on the news of Azam's release, a crowd of his supporters started gathering near the jail gate from 5 a.m. Azam Khan's eldest son Adeeb Azam was the first to reach the jail.

 

MLAs Ashu Malik and Abdullah Azam also reached Sitapur Jail. Abdullah Azam went inside the jail at 6:55 am. Supporters of Rampur, Lucknow, and other places have reached Sitapur. On Thursday, the Supreme Court granted interim bail to SP MLA Azam Khan. His release order was awaited since the bail was granted. He could not be released due to a non-receipt of release permit till late Thursday evening.

 

Shivpal reached Sitapur Jail at seven o'clock: Praspa (Progressive Samajwadi Party) National President Shivpal Yadav also reached Sitapur Jail. His car entered the jail premises at seven in the morning. Police from many police stations were deployed at the jail gate. The police administration was ready for Azam's release. Policemen posted at all the entry points of the city were seen checking all the incoming vehicles. Police were on standby near Vaidehi Vatika, RMP Mod, Bahuguna Square, Roadways, GIC Square, and Kashiram Colony. There were police from many police stations on the jail road.

 

Stayed at the house of former MLA Anoop Gupta: After being released from jail, SP MLA Azam Khan has reached the residence of former MLA Anoop Gupta of Maholi. Anoop Gupta's house is barely 100 meters away from the jail. After staying here for about half an hour, he left for Rampur from Sitapur.

 

Azam Khan was lodged in Sitapur Jail since February 2020: SP MLA Azam Khan was shifted to Sitapur Jail on 27 February 2020. Wife Tazeen Fatma and son Abdullah Azam were also sent to Sitapur jail. After about 10 months, their wife Tazin Fatma got bail. Abdullah Azam was released on 15 January 2022. After getting bail, Azam Khan is being released after almost 27 months.
