ISKCON Kolkata spokesperson Radharaman Das on Monday claimed that lawyer Ramen Roy, who defended Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu, a prominent face of the Hindu community in Bangladesh, has been brutally attacked. He has been seriously injured in the attack and is fighting for his life in the hospital. Das said that lawyer Roy's only mistake was to defend Chinmoy Prabhu in court.

ISKCON Kolkata spokesperson Das posted a post on X with a picture of Roy in the ICU. He said pray for lawyer Ramen Roy. Islamic fundamentalists vandalized his house and attacked him brutally. He claimed that Roy was seriously injured in the attack. He is currently in the ICU and is fighting for his life.

The attack is a direct result of Chinmoy Prabhu's legal defense: Das.

Speaking to a Bengali news channel, ISKCON Kolkata vice-president Das said that this brutal attack on lawyer Roy is a direct result of Chinmoy Krishna Prabhu's legal defense. It reflects the growing threat faced by those who protect the rights of religious minorities in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh court has sent Chinmay Das to jail.

Chinmay Krishna Das Prabhu, spokesperson of Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jot, was arrested from Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport last Monday. He was going to Chattogram to participate in a rally. After the arrest, a Bangladesh court refused to grant him bail and sent him to jail.

The number of Hindu community was 22 percent in 1971

The number of Hindu communities in Bangladesh was around 22 percent during the Liberation War of 1971, but now it has come down to about 8 percent. The reasons for this decline are religious violence, socio-political pressure, and migration.
