The legendary singer Asha Bhosle—who graced countless film songs with her velvety voice—is no longer amongst us. Music composer Lalit Pandit, too, is deeply saddened by the passing of this iconic vocalist. Speaking to Lalit Pandit shared several anecdotes regarding his association with 'Asha Tai'.

"Today, we have lost a legend. When we look back, it feels truly astounding to see the sheer volume of incredible work she accomplished. Asha-ji was the 'Golden Lady' of that era. The magnitude of work she undertook is a feat that would be incredibly difficult for anyone else to replicate. I have had the privilege of singing numerous songs alongside her.

In my childhood—even as a child artist—I had the opportunity to sing with her. We worked together on films such as Parichay, Apna Desh, and many others. My sister, our entire group, and I—we would all sing alongside her, particularly in songs composed by Pancham Da.

She had known me since I was a very young child. We were connected just like family members. Even after we grew up and began our professional careers, she continued to sing for us. She sang for my very first film. We collaborated on movies like Dilwale and Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha."

"She was a truly lovely person—very cheerful and possessed such warmth in her conversation that it would instantly gladden the heart. She was brimming with such energy and resilience that, even at her advanced age, she continued to practice her vocals daily. She insisted on handling her own recordings personally—a level of passion that is rarely found in people.

Some time ago, I had actually spoken with her. I had heard that she wasn't keeping well. I told her that I wanted to come and visit her. She replied, 'My health isn't very stable right now.' I said, 'Alright; as soon as you start feeling better, I will come to see you'... and I ended up waiting forever."
