BJP is the most important international political party in the world. This claim has been made in an opinion article in the American newspaper 'The Wall Street Journal'. The article states that India's Bharatiya Janata Party is the most important foreign political party in the world in terms of American interests. This article written by Walter Russell Mead states that perhaps the least known about this party in the world.

 

The article states that after consecutive victories in 2014 and 2019, the BJP is moving towards repeating the victory in 2024 as well. Along with this, India is also becoming a major economic power, due to which this country along with Japan has become the pivot of America's policy in the Indo-Pacific. The article said that shortly, BJP will make most of the decisions in India and without its help, all the steps taken by America to balance the growing power of China will remain weak.

 

BJP has the quality of one or the other party in every country.

Author Mead said that the BJP is poorly known in the world because most non-Indians are ignorant of the political and cultural history associated with its rise. He said that the BJP, like the Muslim Brotherhood, rejects many ideas of Western liberalism, while embracing other important parameters of modernity. Like the Communist Party of China, the BJP wants to make a country with a population of more than a billion a global superpower. The BJP, like Israel's Likud party, has a pro-market economic outlook, but with populist and traditional values. Even if it costs the BJP the resentment of those who do not support its policies or who support a western-centric culture and come from the political elite.

Mead said that the victory of the BJP in the recent elections held in the Christian-majority states of Northeast India is one of its important victories. The BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, which has a population of over 200 million, gets the support of Shia Muslims. Activists of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) play an important role in fighting caste discrimination there.

 

The American analyst said, "After extensive discussions with senior BJP and RSS leaders and their critics, I am convinced that the US and the West need to engage more deeply with this powerful and complex movement.

Its programs of rural and urban development, religious education, and its revival and civic activism, in which thousands of volunteers come from different walks of life and create a political consciousness. It focuses the energies of hundreds of millions of people around the world."
