Sreedharan, a 'Metro Man' awarded with Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan, is known as a symbol of development in the country.
Early life and career
E Sreedharan was born in Karukaputhur village in Palakkad district. Born to the house of Neelakandan Musa and Ammaluamma, E Sreedharan got his initial education in a government school in the village. After this, he went to Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh for the degree of Senior Secondary Palghat and later Civil Engineering.
Initially, after studying, he became a teacher for some time but soon after qualifying UPSC started his services in Indian Railways. For which the Indian Railways always remembers him. The work of reconnecting the cyclone-destroyed Pamban bridge was completed by E. Sreedharan in record time.
Metro Man, the journey to become
