The British High Commission has said that given the new threats, we are working together on the next generation of defense and security cooperation across land, sea, air, space, and cyber.

Britain has said that it will also help India to make fighter jets. Simultaneously, the UK will seek to support India's needs for new technology to identify and respond to threats in the Indian Ocean.

free trade agreement

Narendra Modi and Boris Johnson agreed to expand the India-UK defense partnership and announced plans to finalize a free trade agreement (FTA) by the end of 2022. Modi said that the teams of both countries are working on a free trade agreement. Negotiations are progressing well and we have decided to do our best to end the FTA by the end of this year. Johnson said that we are asking our interlocutors to complete the FTA by Diwali in October.

What happened in Ukraine?

India and Britain on Friday called on Russia for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine. Modi said the two sides discussed the situation in Ukraine and stressed the importance of diplomacy and dialogue to resolve the issues.
