The government said that 8 out of 10 districts most affected by Corona are from Maharashtra and Delhi is also included in this list as a district. Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that among the 10 districts which have the highest number of active cases, Pune (59,475), Mumbai (46,248), Nagpur (45,322), Thane (35,264), Nashik (26,553), Aurangabad (21,282), Bengaluru (16,259), Nanded (15,171), Delhi (8,032) and Ahmednagar (7,952). He said that there are technically many districts in Delhi, but it has been taken as one district.

Big reason for increasing the case
Isolation is not occurring properly in most states. People are asked to isolate or quarantine at home, but it is not being monitored properly.
Tests are not being conducted at the pace at which the cases are increasing in the states.

Increase in positivity rate in Maharashtra-Punjab
According to the Health Ministry, new cases have increased in the last few days in Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Delhi. During this period, an increase in the average positivity rate has been recorded. Also, in some states, the positivity rate is higher than the Indian average. India's average positivity rate is 5.65%, while these states have higher than that. Cases of infection are increasing at a rate of 23.44% in Maharashtra, 8.82% in Punjab, 8.24% in Chhattisgarh, and 7.82% in Madhya Pradesh.

The central government stated that covaxine and convicted vaccines are effective against the dangerous UK and Brazilian variants of corona infection. The government further stated that research is going on regarding the South African variant of the infection. Its results will be revealed soon.
1.21 million people infected so far
In the last 24 hours, 53,125 new cases came into the country, 41,217 patients were cured and 355 died. So far, about 1.21 crore people in the country have been affected by this epidemic.
