In IPL 2023, the match is to be played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday. However, Rohit's paltan has already suffered a major setback before this. Fast bowler, Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the IPL due to fitness issues. Five-time champion Mumbai told that Archer will return to his country England and will be under the supervision of the England Cricket Board.
Along with this, Mumbai has also announced the replacement of Archer.
Mumbai said Archer's recovery and fitness are being monitored by the ECB. He will return home to focus on his rehabilitation. Mumbai has made England's fast bowler Chris Jordan a replacement for Archer. Jordan has been included in his team by Mumbai for two crore rupees. Jordan had earlier played last season with Chennai Super Kings. He is considered a yorker specialist and Jordan's bowling is excellent in the death overs. He has also joined the Mumbai team.
Mumbai wrote on Twitter – Chris Jordan will join the Mumbai team for the rest of the season. Jordan has replaced Jofra Archer in the team. Jordan made his IPL debut in 2016. So far he has played 28 matches and has 27 wickets in his name. Apart from this, he has played 87 T20s for England and has 96 wickets in his name. Jordan can also bat aggressively in the last.
Archer has not been able to perform anything special this season according to his name. Due to fitness problems, he also had to sit out in many matches. He played only four matches for Mumbai and took just two wickets at an economy rate of 10.38. His bowling average this season was 83.00, which he will try to forget as soon as possible. However, before this season, Archer's performance was excellent. Talking about his overall record, Archer has taken 48 wickets in 39 IPL matches at an average of 23.90 and an economy rate of 7.47. Three wickets for 15 runs is his best bowling.
Playing for Mumbai, Archer had spent 27 runs in the last over of the innings against Punjab. After this, many questions were raised by the fans regarding his form and fitness. In the match against Punjab, Archer had scored 56 runs in four overs. However, in this match, Mumbai was successful in winning by six wickets. However, after this, Archer returned to the match against Chennai and gave 24 runs in four overs, but could not manage to take any wickets.
