Corona virus: Trump introduced lockdown removal plan

US President Donald Trump has proposed a three-phase plan to start normal life in the country.

 

Trump has proposed a three-step proposal to reopen schools and offices under the "Opening Up America Again" scheme and has urged all states to consider implementing these suggestions. According to the plan, all phases will remain in force for at least 14 days.

In a press conference held on Thursday, Trump explained this plan in detail. Trump said that keeping the economy closed for long periods of time is not an appropriate way to deal with the Corona crisis.

 

The number of corona infections worldwide has exceeded 21.51 lakhs. More than 1.43 lakh people have been killed by the Corona virus so far.

 

The most victims of Corona have been the people of America, where more than 32 thousand people have died. More than six and a half lakh people have been infected here.

 

What is Trump's plan?

 

In the first phase of the plan, it has been talked about implementing the rules of social distancing, during which schools and offices will be closed.

 

If this step shows a decrease in cases of infection in the states, then the states can consider implementing the second phase. Under this, some offices with limited number of employees will be allowed to open. But during this period the ban on more than 50 people gathering at one place will continue.

 

In the third phase, all offices will be allowed to work normally and during this time there will be no restrictions on the movement of people in hospitals and care homes for the elderly. During this time, people who are at risk of infection will be advised to take precautions.

 

Decision left on governor of states

Earlier, Trump had discussed with the governors of all the states and agreed to leave the decision of the state governors to remove the restrictions imposed on the citizens.

 

Earlier, Trump had said that he can take his own decision about lifting restrictions in the states. He later agreed that the decision should be made by the Governor of the state and the federal government can issue only guidelines in this matter.

 

During the discussion, he told the governors, "You will execute this plan as per the need, we are only helping you. We will supply whatever you need, whatever you need."

 

Trump was also present at the press conference with Anthony Fauchy, director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and Dr. Deborah Bricks, the convenor of the Corona Virus Taskforce.

 

States can take different time

 

President Trump said that "We had closed our economy to win a war and we are winning this war. But now the restrictions have to be removed from the country. We have to keep our economy running and we have to do it soon."

 

He said that after assessing their situation all states will start removing restrictions at different times.

 

He said "all states are different" and while work can start in some states quickly, in other states it may take some time.

 

At the press conference, Trump also accused the World Health Organization and said that the US was not given full time to prepare. He said, "I am angry because he should have told the US and the whole world about this crisis in advance."

 

However, according to the White House memo, in January this year, America was told about the growing crisis of the Korana virus. Critics say that Trump had immediately halted air connectivity between China and the US, but wasted the crucial time to deal with Corona until the month of March.

 

'The game is not over yet'

Corona Virus Taskforce convenor Dr Deborah Brix said that as planned, states could allow employees to return to work in a phased manner, working in these three phases.

 

But in the third phase, people will be advised to follow the rules of social distancing.

 

Anthony Fauchi, director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that "you can call this plan whatever you want, but the game is not over yet".

 

He warns that this virus may once again raise its head and may have to bear the consequences.

 

However, he says that "I think we can control the situation until a vaccine is made for this virus".
