Military talks between India and China are going to be held on July 17. This will be the 16th phase of the Corps Commander level talks. Lt Gen A Sengupta will participate from the Indian side. There can be talks in this regarding disengagement from the friction point in eastern Ladakh. Earlier such a meeting was held on March 11. Let us tell you that the confrontation that started in 2020 on the border of Ladakh is not over yet. Tension persists in this area.

On 5 May 2020, there was a confrontation between the army of India and China in the Pangong Lake area. After this, the tension escalated after the clash in Galwan Valley on June 15. Since then, there has been no agreement between the two countries to remove the army from the friction point. A day earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that the solution to this issue between the two countries can be found only through dialogue.

He further said, in the last two years it has become clear that we will not withdraw a one-sided army. The status quo will remain until China also cooperates. Let us inform you that since the collision, both countries have deployed more than 10 thousand soldiers and weapons in this area. After talks last year, the two countries withdrew troops in the northern and southern areas of Pangong Lake. 50 to 60 thousand soldiers from both countries are stationed in sensitive areas of LAC.

According to the spokesperson of the Indian Army, it was agreed to maintain the status quo in the 15th round of talks. The talks took place in Chushul Moldo. It is not clear where the talks will take place this time.
