Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has filed a case of fraud of Rs 16 crore against his former business partner Mihir Diwakar. A criminal case has been registered against Mihir and his partner Soumya Das, director of sports management firm Arka Sports Management Private Limited. Despite this, both of them have denied any kind of fraud. In his complaint, Dhoni has accused his former business partners of defrauding him of about Rs 16 crore by defrauding the contract related to opening a cricket academy.
According to media reports, MS Dhoni has filed a criminal case of forgery against Mihir and his partner Soumya Das. Mihir has denied the allegations, but five complaints and summons are pending against him in Tamil Nadu. Citing ill health, he did not come even once.
Shraddha Global Educational Trust has also filed a written complaint against Mihir Diwakar. Mihir had agreed with the trust on behalf of MS Dhoni without any authority and had withdrawn a sum of Rs 35 lakh for a new school with the logo and endorsement of the former Indian cricket team captain. After the merger, the trust filed a complaint against Mihir saying that he had no rights on the logo and endorsement.
Dhoni's friend and a source close to him said that Mihir Diwakar's actions have tarnished MS Dhoni's reputation. “He is issuing a statement, but Mihir Diwakar should show courage and come to the Ranchi court to answer on this issue,” the source said.
MS Dhoni filed a criminal case in the competent court at District Court Ranchi under sections 406, 420,467,468,471, and 120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against 1. Arka Sports Management Pvt. Ltd. 2. Mihir Diwakar Director and 3. Soumya Das Director .
Even after the rights were revoked by MS Dhoni on August 15, 2021, Mihir Diwakar opened several cricket academies in India and abroad using the name of the former India captain. He also took money from franchises for MS Dhoni Cricket Academy and MS Dhoni Sports Academy. Dhoni's former business partner misused his name. Cheated them. For this reason, Dhoni has filed a case against him and demanded Rs 16 crore.
