The download speed of mobile data in India has increased by 115%. It was 13.87 Mbps in September last year, which was 29.85 Mbps in January. Now India has gone ahead of other countries including G20 countries like Russia, Argentina, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Indonesia.
According to Ookla's report, 5G in India is running at a rocket pace. India was in 69th position in January 2023 but now due to 5G India has reached 49th position. It was ranked 118th in September 2022. The report said, in January 2023, customers using Jio 5G service got an average download speed of 246.49 Mbps in Himachal Pradesh. At the same time, a speed of up to 506.25 Mbps was recorded in Kolkata.
Airtel 5G customers experienced an average download speed of 78.13 Mbps in Kolkata and 268.89 Mbps in Delhi. As per the report, the average 5G download speed ranged between 512.57 Mbps (Gujarat) and 19.23 Mbps (Uttar Pradesh West).
5G target of three years completed in six months
According to a senior government official, telecom companies have completed the three-year 5G target within six months. Now the government is making efforts to drive the adoption of 5G in various key sectors. The government has hosted over 50 companies in the Indian pavilion and the delegation is here to showcase indigenously developed 4G and 5G technology, VL Kanta Rao, Additional Secretary, Department of Telecom, told the Mobile World Congress. When spectrum was allotted to companies for 5G rollout, we had said that within one to three years certain cities would have to be covered. They have established more than one lakh sites in 350 cities.
12 locations linked to mobile gaming app raided, 68 crores seized
The Enforcement Directorate has raided around a dozen premises in Kolkata. The Enforcement Directorate took this action at a location linked to the mobile gaming application e-Nuggets. Before the raid, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had also arrested the main accused Aamir. The ED has so far seized a total amount of Rs 68.42 crore in this scam related to cryptocurrency. According to sources, the ED raids are taking place in a slum in Kolkata. In September last year, ED officials raided the residence of Nasir Khan, father of Aamir Khan, a local businessman, in the Garden Reach area in Kolkata. During this, the ED recovered a huge amount of cash and gold from the residence. Aamir had allegedly launched a mobile gaming application called E-Nuggets, which was duped of crores of rupees.
How was the cheating
The e-Nuggets mobile app was a gaming application. This app was designed as a scam. The app won the trust of the first users, after which people started investing huge amounts in the form of commissions. However, the public also got a good amount from this. After a few days, the app was abruptly terminated and all data including profile information was removed from the app servers.
