Monsoon Alert: Possibility of heavy rains in these states including western UP-Uttarakhand; Know the condition of monsoon in the country

Southwest Monsoon has covered almost the entire country ahead of time. Monsoon will reach most parts of Punjab-Haryana and Rajasthan in the next two days. At the same time, monsoon remained active in most parts of India including Assam on Tuesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast similar conditions for the next five days. Meanwhile, rain continues in the mountains as well. There is a possibility of heavy rains in the seven hilly districts of Uttarakhand today i.e. on Wednesday.

 

The IMD said that light to moderate rain is likely in most parts and heavy in some parts over West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand during the next five days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over Himachal Pradesh till June 29, East Uttar Pradesh from June 29 to July 1, East Rajasthan on June 29-30, and Uttarakhand on June 28-29.

Heavy to very heavy rain may occur in many areas in Gujarat for the next five days. According to IMD, Southwest Monsoon has advanced into most parts of the North Arabian Sea, the remaining parts of Gujarat, and has covered the entire Gujarat. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Navsari, Valsad districts of South Gujarat, and the Union Territory of Daman and Dadar Nagar Haveli. Heavy to very heavy rain is very likely over the districts of South, North Gujarat, and Saurashtra during the next three days.

IMD uses four colors for weather warnings.

 

'Green' means no action is required

 

'Yellow' means keep an eye and get information

 

'Orange' means to be prepared for any eventuality

 

'Red' means act without delay

 

65 percent less rain in Kerala so far

The India Meteorological Department says Kerala has received below-normal rainfall during the monsoon so far. The Southwest Monsoon reached Kerala this time on June 8, a week late as compared to its normal time of June 1. Due to the southwest monsoon, Kerala has received 65 percent less rainfall this year than the normal rainfall for this period. However, the regional office of the Meteorological Department in Kerala says that the southwest wind is intensifying and there is a possibility of good rains in the coming days.
