After the order of the CBI inquiry by the Lieutenant Governor, the Delhi government, which is facing all the allegations, has taken a big decision. On Saturday, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia told that the old excise policy will be implemented in Delhi from Monday. It will remain in force for six months.

The Delhi government has come on the back foot after recommending a CBI inquiry into the allegations of alleged corruption in the new excise policy. Manish Sisodia said that the new excise policy will be back. Till the new policy is prepared, the sale of liquor will be done under the old policy.

Announcing this, Sisodia said that we had implemented a new excise policy to check corruption. Earlier, the government used to get revenue of Rs 6000 crore from 850 liquor shops. The sale of liquor from the corporations was withdrawn and handed over to the private hands

The drinking age reduced from 25 to 21

Only three days were allowed to be dry days i.e. shops were closed for 3 days in a year.

Permission was given to open pink booths so that women could consume alcohol

Restaurants and bars are allowed to buy liquor only from the liquor sales center

The liquor sales center was allowed to give discount on MRP
