New Delhi, Jan 15 (IANS) In its bid to promote art among commuters, Delhi Metro in association with the India Habitat Centre Thursday unveiled specially-designed display panels at two Metro stations.
The seven display panels on art and culture and 20 photographs displaying information about the history of photography in India and other art-related topics of historical importance were unveiled at the Jorbagh and Mandi House stations.
The initiative was part of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) inked between the two organisations last year.
"Delhi Metro and the India Habitat Centre had signed an MoU last year, as per which the two organisations agreed to work together 'to promote the cause of bringing art in the domain of common public so that the pleasure of viewing art is spread to the common people and community art becomes a reality in Delhi'," a Delhi Metro statement said.
The India Habitat Centre has created the content while Delhi Metro has provided the space and other ancillary support.
In its endeavour to promote art and culture, Delhi Metro has in the past installed panels and models at many stations like Patel Chowk, Mandi House and Janpath.
Panels will also adorn the ITO station later this year.
