Team India trampled England by 10 wickets in the first match of the 3 ODI series. This is the first time in 48 years that India has defeated England by 10 wickets. India played an ODI for the first time in 1974 against the British.

India elected to bowl first after winning the toss and restricted England to 110 in 25.2 overs thanks to a career-best performance by Jasprit Bumrah (19/6). For the second time all 10 wickets in the name of fast bowlers
