After this, earthquake tremors were felt in Maharashtra and then in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday morning. It was only a few days ago when Nepal and Delhi were also shaken by the tremors of the earthquake. If you notice, earthquake tremors are coming continuously recently. Why are earthquakes happening again and again? Is this a sign of bigger danger to come?

According to a report, the Indian subcontinent collided with the Eurasian plate millions of years ago. The Himalayan Mountains were formed from this collision. The Himalayas are rising higher every year. Earthquakes are often happening due to this movement.

The frequent earthquakes have forced scientists to think. Geologists believe that frequent tremors of earthquakes are a clear indication that energy has not come out from inside the earth. Renowned geologist Prof. CC Pant said that the pressure created in the rocks due to the collision of the Eurasian plate and the Indian plate, energy comes out from it.

 

Earthquakes more than 948 times in the last 9 months

It has been claimed in the report that in the last 9 months, earthquakes have occurred more than 948 times in India. Of these, 240 earthquakes were such that the intensity was above 4 on the Richter scale. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), 1090 earthquakes were reported this year.

 

Where did the earthquake occur in 24 hours?

Earthquake tremors were felt in Ladakh at 10.05 am on Tuesday. Its intensity on the Richter scale was 4.3. Its epicenter was 191 km north of Kargil. The depth was 10 kilometers. Earthquake tremors were also felt in Maharashtra's Nashik in the early hours of Wednesday. Its intensity was measured at 3.6. A few hours later, an earthquake occurred in Arunachal Pradesh as well. Tremors were felt 58 km north-west-north from Basar in the state.
