Of these, 240 earthquakes were such that the intensity was above 4 on the Richter scale. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), 1090 earthquakes were reported this year.

Earthquake tremors were felt in Ladakh at 10.05 am on Tuesday. Its intensity on the Richter scale was 4.3. Its epicenter was 191 km north of Kargil. The depth was 10 kilometers. Earthquake tremors were also felt in Maharashtra's Nashik in the early hours of Wednesday. Its intensity was measured at 3.6. A few hours later, an earthquake occurred in Arunachal Pradesh as well. Tremors were felt 58 km north-west-north from Basar in the state.
